In honor of the many layers that define who we are as women, the Sister for Sister Conference kicks off its weekend with Friday evening's event “Confessions of the & Soul”. Designed as an intimate space where you and your girlfriends can unwind after a long day, “Confessions of the Soul” features the expression of our voices through the art of storytelling. These stories will explore our uncensored feelings and thoughts about the obstacles, accolades and decisions we face, individually and collectively, as women. So come prepared to celebrate every aspect of you!!

Meet the Characters

This dynamic theatrical presentation, featuring The African American Repertory Theatre, features the journey of six courageous women who tell empowering stories of life, love and loss…and how they got through it all. These dramatic characters include:

Jade Willingham a wealthy professional business woman who thinks she has it all, but soon finds out that money doesn’t hold the key to happiness.  Photo of AART Members

Star McMillan A streetwise rebellious young lady who comes to realize the hard way that the choices you make today have a direct impact on your future.

Ebony Harris A sister who has been crippled by her childhood where she was constantly taunted for being “Dark Skinned”. She lives with the mentality that “ Being dark skinned and a woman will never get you far!”

Mother Freeman A charismatic mother of the church who has spent so much time caring for others that she has forgotten about caring for herself.

Eve Jones a woman who never learned how to love herself and now she uses her body to get what she want.

Trella Randolph A college student on the eve graduating and entering the work force. She struggles mightily with her weight. She blames this struggle on her lack of significant relationships and the fact that she didn’t land her dream job.

We all struggle with something…but we never have to do it alone. What is your story?
